This course is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge perform LV panel rescue procedures and CPR in various situations. The program is based on real-life practical skills and is aligned with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. It is mandatory for employees in high-risk industries to maintain their professional skills and ensure their safety.

Fixing Electricity Lines

This unit covers the necessary skills and knowledge for performing a rescue from live low voltage electrical apparatus in an electricity supply industry environment. The course includes workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, as well as meeting work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility, and mutual aid requirements. Completion of the course will equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the LV panel rescue procedure.

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables. It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.

 

Completing the course will provide an individual with the skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the LV panel rescue procedure and to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a range of situations, in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

We cover a broad range of height risk situations and teach students how to implement safe working procedures according to regulations and legislative requirements. Students will learn to identify risks implement control measures, and interpret risk assessment documentation and safety information. We also provide hands-on experience with fall protection equipment and systems.
